Priest Emeritus
In December 2024, we joyfully honored The Rev. Kent Tarpley as Priest Emeritus in celebration of the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. This milestone marked five decades of faithful ministry, devoted leadership, and steadfast proclamation of the Gospel. Though he retired from active parish ministry in Virginia, Fr. Kent’s vocation to serve has never ceased. He continues to bless our parish family and the wider Green Cove community with his wisdom, pastoral presence, and generous spirit. He faithfully leads many of our Tuesday noonday Bible study sessions, participates in clergy forums, and serves as chaplain to the St. Mary by the Water chapter of the Daughters of the King. His enduring commitment to Christ and to the Church remains a source of inspiration, and we are deeply grateful for the legacy of faithfulness he continues to build among us.
